BOBOVR X1 AIO VR Headset: Virtual Reality Made Cheap?

The BOBOVR X1 is a custom-made All-In-One VR headset, that means you do not any external device to actually use it. Unlike the Oculus Rift and HTC Vive that need a PC, or Samsung Gear VR and such that still need a smartphone.

BOBOVR’s X1 headset is powered by an Allwinner H8 CPU with a clock speed of 1.3 GHz, that doesn’t make you scream for performance but should be good enough to power you through a virtual reality experience. It also packs a couple of headphones that are advertised to produce 3D 5.1 Hi-Fi sound, but take that with a grain of salt.

The screen on the X1 has a resolution of 1920 x 1080px and a size of 5.5-inches, which isn’t impressing but again, should be alright for a cheap headset like this. The field of view is of 120-degrees

The VR headset also boasts 2GB of DDR3 RAM, and 32GB of eMMC flash storage. It features WiFi 802.11 b/g/n with a maximum bandwidth of 11 Mbps, 802.11g 54 Mbps and 802.11n 150 Mbps, plus bluetooth 4.0
