The Xiaomi Mi A2 and Mi A2 Lite have recently been announced in Spain, the two smartphones are set to destroy the competition with their set of specs, modern design and affordable price. With that in mind, let’s go ahead and see what makes the two handset so special.
Beginning with the best of the pack, the Xiaomi Mi A2. The smartphone comes with a stunning and sharp 5.99-inch display sporting a 1080 x 2160 resolution and an 18:9 aspect ratio. The Mi A2 is then powered by a great performing Qualcomm Snapdragon 660 octa-core processor with AI features (artificial intelligence) along with either 4GB or 6GB of RAM along with 32GB, 64GB or 128GB of internal storage.
A big upgrade over the previous A1 is the new 12MP Sony IMX486 image sensor coupled with another 20MP Sony IMX376 both of which have an f/1.75 aperture and large pixel size. Meanwhile at the front we have 20MP snapper for selfies which will take advantage of a soft LED flash for low light conditions.
The Xiaomi Mi A2 is in the Android One program, which means it comes with a stock version of Android 8.1 Oreo out of the box. The smartphone will also be getting new Android features faster as well as patches.
Moving onto the little brother – the Xiaomi Mi A2 Lite, we find yet another impressive mid-ranger. The handset sports a 5.84-inch FHD+ display with a resolution of 1080 x 2280 and an 19:9 display along with a notch at the top. The Mi A2 Lite is fueled by the older but still good performing and power efficient Qualcomm Snapdragon 625 SoC paired with either 3GB or 4GB of RAM and 32GB of 64GB of internal storage.
In the camera department we find a main 12MP Sony IMX486 image sensor on the back, along with a 5MP secondary shooter and PDAF autofocus. For selfies we have another 5MP camera at the front.
Finally, the Xiaomi Mi A2 Lite comes with a large 4000mAh which is set to bring impressive SoT (screen-on-time) and runs, once again, Android 8.1 Oreo in the stock version.
The Xiaomi Mi A2 and Xiaomi Mi A2 Lite will definitely sell like hotcakes around the globe due to their great build quality, specs for price and being part of the Android One program.
