Aside, from smartphones and a few other gadgets, the Xiaomi Mi Band series is probably one of the most successful product lines the company has in its portfolio. The latest iteration of this fantastic serie is the Xiaomi Mi Band 3, since we happen to have one – courtesy of GearVita – here’s our full review!
The Xiaomi Mi Band 3 comes with the usual and simple box we’re accustomed to see, there are no surprises here. The main piece is actually not inside the band when you receive it, so you have to insert it yourself before wearing it.
Design and Build Quality
Xiaomi’s latest Mi Band 3 sports a relatively new design that’s still not too different from its previous generation. The upgrades are the new and bigger 0.78-inch OLED high-resolution display which is brighter than ever before, along with a touchscreen functionality and a button below it.
Overall, the Mi Band 3 feels very solid and gives us the impression it’ll last a couple years, or at least until when you’ll want to upgrade to a Mi Band 4 or 5. The band is made of a TPE material, while the main piece is made of durable plastic and is 5ATM waterproof, which means you can take it for a swim for up to 50 meters below water.
The Xiaomi Mi Band 3 is probably one of the best smart bands on the market. It packs lots of features supported by a solid hardware and let’s best honest; that’s the most important factor with all these devices.
After trying a pretty high number of these bands, what the cheaper ones have in common is indeed poor software, which then kills the entire user experience. This doesn’t happen with the Mi Band 3.
Xiaomi’s fitness band, as many other products from the company, comes with top software and features, with everything working as it should be, something that doesn’t always happen.
The Mi Band 3 is able to count steps, distance walked, calories burned along with heart rate and sleep. It can then show what’s the weather like, show incoming messages and call or be used to find your device, among other features.
Overall, the Xiaomi Mi Band 3 brings a fantastic user experience.
Battery life is another place where the Xiaomi Mi Band 3 shines. The band can indeed achieve from 10 to 20 days of autonomy, depending on how you use it. We had it running the heart rate 24/7 and pretty much any feature enabled, with that, we managed to get around 10 days out of it; definitely a positive result.
The Xiaomi Mi Band 3 is a strong YES. If you need a fitness band because you either work out a lot and are curious about your numbers or you just want to lose some extra weight by dieting, the Mi Band 3 is the best and most affordable device on the market that can deliver everything you need without hiccups or breaking the bank.
